The BCS is kooky. I do not know who thought an idea this stupid would work over a play-off system. The people running this crap defend the BCS by saying that if there was a play-off then you would have to get rid of the bowl games. No you don't. You can keep all your other crappy bowl games, but the eight team play-off can be made up of bowl games. It would work like this: First round games: 1 vs. 8- Peach Bowl 2 vs. 7- Fiesta Bowl 3 vs. 6- Cotton Bowl 4 vs. 5- Gator Bowl Second round games: Winner of Peach Bowl vs. winner of Gator Bowl- Orange Bowl Winner of Cotton Bowl vs. winner of Fiesta Bowl- Sugar Bowl Championship Game: Rose Bowl Try to convince me that won't work. List of non-AQ teams that made a BCS bowl (remember, all teams were undefeated going into their bowl game) 2004 Utah: Beat Pittsburgh 35-7 in the Fiesta Bowl 2006 Boise State: Beat Oklahoma 43-42 in overtime at the Fiesta Bowl 2007 Hawaii: Lost 41-10 to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl (only non-AQ loss in BCS bowl) 2008 Utah: Beat Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl 2009 Boise State: Beat TCU 17-10 in the Fiesta Bowl 2009 TCU: Lost 17-10 to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl (2009 TCU is technically a loss, but they lost to another non-AQ team so it wasn't counted)
